Give your fireplace a facelift for winter!

As the clocks have gone back and the nights start to draw in, there is nothing more comforting than drawing the curtains and retreating to a cosy living room with a roaring fire.

But if your fireplace is still displaying the dirt from last winter, there is a quick and easy way to give your fireplace a facelift with Soap Flakes! Soap Flakes are perfect for fireplaces as they have a gentle cleaning power that is suitable on even the most delicate of surfaces, including marble, limestone and sandstone!

Simply make up a Soap Flakes solution by adding one cup of Soap Flakes to a bucket of warm water and mix until the flakes are dissolved. Using a cloth and the solution, scrub the surfaces to remove dirt and grime and then wipe with a clean damp cloth.

Clean and sparkling fireplaces in no time, ready for those cosy winters nights!

Don't use this on Limestone! There are many ways to protect and preserve limestone soap flakes will not. The reason being is that most limestone on modern fireplaces is now imported from Portugal, which has a blue oxidized pigment within. Once this has been soaked in water it releases the pigment and produces water marks really easy. But will be great for my old marble fireplace, and my granite hearth. Look for Marble and Stone Care Kit on Fireplace Megastore.
